The crossover

It’s already a few minutes past midnight and many people are in church to pray into/cross over the New Year with God. This is surely a good trend but should it end there? Most people attend these midnight services, and forget about God after a few days, only remembering him again when they get into trouble.  It’s nice to start a new year with God in prayers and praise, but to me it’s much more important to continue with God every single day.

Let's strive to walk hand in hand with God in this coming year. This can be easier if we learn to do everything with and for God. Intimacy with God is built this way.

When we do common things with and for God, they become sanctified. For example going to work every day of the week, getting dressed, going shopping, exercising, I mean everything.God cares about everything about us and he wants to be involved. He wants to go to work with us; He wants to clean the house with us. 

And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him (Colossians 3:17), 

So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.( 1 Corinthians 10:31) 

 Our relationship with God is not a burden but a friendship.  We should ask Him for the grace to get comfortable with Him. He isn't only interested in Sunday services but our everyday lives.

 He died not for us to have a religion, but for us to have a close relationship with Him through the Holy Spirit. God is as close to us as our breathe. Anybody can be as close to God as they want to, it all decides on how much time they are willing to put in. (Joyce Meyer). We should realize that we represent God on earth hence our closeness with Him will radiate to people around us and they sense that aura of Christ in us and want to know Him just by the lives we live.

Action Plan.   Everyday God gives us is a gift, let’s be deliberately thankful for the small and big things and always try by Gods help to do everything for His glory.
