Life is a dress rehearsal. It is practice for the real life
ahead of us… eternity. Ecclesiastes
3:11 says, God has set eternity in the
hearts of men. This means that every human being has an innate divinely
placed knowledge that there is more to life that what is attainable. You are but a mist that appears for a little while and then
vanishes
(James 4:14), hence there is more to this existence.
Are
we living with a view of eternity?
The end of all things
is near. Therefore be clear minded and self-controlled
so that you can pray. Above all, love each other deeply, because love
covers over a multitude of sins. Offer
hospitality to one another without
grumbling. Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering
God’s grace in its various forms. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God.
If anyone serves, he should do it with
the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through
Jesus Christ. To him be the glory and the power for ever and ever. Amen.2

Eternity
is spent either in heaven or hell. The choice of our forever abode is in our
hands. The bible tells us that, the day
of the Lord will come like a thief in the night 1Thessalonians 5:1-2. If
you were to die today, do you know for certain that you would go to heaven, or
be eternally punished in hell?
We
will not have a second chance to make things right on the Day of Judgment. For we shall all stand before the judgment
seat of Christ Romans 14:10. We have to get it right in this life.
Hell is very real. Heaven is real. Here are a few scriptures
on Heaven and hell, for those that still doubt the existence of these places.

In order to be saved and get to heaven, you must

Obey the word of God
The bible teaches that the only way to have
eternal life is through, the Son of God, the Lord Jesus Christ. Whoever believes in the Son has eternal
life, but whoever rejects the Son, will not see life, for God’s wrath remains
on him. John 3:36. God has given to
us eternal life, and this life is in His Son 1 John 5:11. He that has the Son has life; and he that
does not the Son has no life. 1John5:12. Jesus Christ came to save us from
the power of our sins and reconcile us to God. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in
Christ Jesus, our Lord. Romans 6:23
When we repent and believe in Jesus, we
become like new creatures, in order words born again. We start reading the
bible and the Lord Jesus gives us the graces we need to obey His word. Our
lives start to change and we start to be transformed more and more as we delve
deeper in the knowledge of God through His word. We start to have a
Father-Child relation with God Almighty just because of the saving blood of
Jesus Christ that paid for our sins. If you have been saved and find that you
have fallen back in sin, confess your sins and the Lord with forgive you. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and
just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. 1John1:9
God does not want anyone to go to hell…’As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign
Lord, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that they turn
from their ways and live. Turn! Turn from your evil ways! Why will you die, O
house of Israel’ Ezekiel 33:11 The
Lord is patient with you ,not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to
repentance 2 peter 3:9
In spite of man’s wickedness, God so loved
us that He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus to die for our sin, so that we may
have eternal life. John3:16
Good deeds alone will not get us to heaven.
The bible teaches that if we would earn our way to heaven, then the Lord Jesus
Christ died for nothing. You may have been charitable all your life, kind, not
murdered anyone literarily and with your words, yet without that personal
conviction that Jesus Christ is the Lord of your life and source of your existence,
all your good would be in vain. For all
have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God Romans 3:23. You must
believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Action plan
For the Christians, who are already ‘born
again’, is your life heaven ready? Examine yourself today and ask God for grace
to make the necessary changes so you be fully reconciled back to God. If you are on track,keep up the good work,your reward is in heaven.
For those yet to receive Christ, Do you
want to follow Jesus? Do you want to spend eternity in heaven? Take your
decision today because tomorrow is not guaranteed to you. Talk to God in your own
words. Surrender yourself to help, ask Him to forgive your sins and be the Lord
of your life. He is just a prayer away.
